To be in compliance you MUST list all private passenger automobiles titled to you, on your SR22 or it WILL affect you vehicle registration. In order to qualify for a Texas Private Passenger Non-Owners Auto Insurance Policy you cannot have any private passenger automobiles registered in your name.

Private Passenger Non-Owners policies are not any cheaper than regular Private Passenger Auto Insurance policies. In fact they cost a little more since the insurance company has no way to determine the scope of the risk based on the type of vehicle; since you could be driving any type of personal auto.

When driving a personal auto registered to someone else, under a Texas Private Passenger Non-Owners Auto Insurance Policy, the personal auto you are driving must meet all legal requirements for the State of Texas including being listed on a Texas Private Passenger Auto Insurance Policy. That's right the owner of the vehicle must have it insured in order for your Texas Private Passenger Non-Owners Auto Insurance Policy to be in force.

Additionally a Non-Owners Auto Policy will NOT cover the vehicle you are driving with physical damage coverage except Uninsured Motorist PD (Physical Damage Coverage) IF YOU ELECT IT.
